DAMAI, meaning peace, was my debut solo exhibition, presented in Kuala Lumpur in December 2024.

The works grew from my continued observation of landscape and the quiet moments found within it. Rivers, trees, distant horizons and familiar surroundings became spaces to explore atmosphere, light, colour and stillness.

Rather than simply recording a place, I looked for what remained when the details were reduced. Forms became simpler. Colour became more atmospheric. Space became as important as the subject itself.

DAMAI marked an important point in my practice: a return to the landscape not only as something to paint, but as a way of looking and slowing down.

The exhibition brought together works created between 2022 and 2024, including my first explorations beyond watercolour.

DAMAI is a reminder that even within the noise of everyday life, there are moments of stillness worth noticing.
